Huarocondo y Huaypo

Huarocondo y Huaypo

This time our adventure started where our car had broken down last time, Huarocondo. Huarocondo is one of the nine districts of Anta in Cusco at 3320 m.a.s.l. and 30 kilometres away from Cusco city. This place is also known as ‘La Tierra del Lechón’ or ‘the piglet land’ due to its exquisite dish made from pork. We visited its square and also its beautiful chapel.

We wanted to see something else, and we departed towards what seemed to be a lake on our google map, the Huaypo lagoon. We started walking through an unknown route with the hope we would find something amazing in our way.

We really enjoyed the path and after crossing farmlands and having taken pictures around, we arrived in Huayllacocha where we took a car that took us to Huaypo Lagoon. We spent the afternoon there and booked a funny boat to navigate on this lagoon. We had fun!
