The Enchanted Forest, San Jerónimo

The Enchanted Forest, San Jerónimo

We had been taken aback by the immensity of those majestic trees in the middle of an impressive forest. Pure air in our lungs, an adventurous spirit and Smooth, the pirate, accompanied us this time on this crossing. However, many of these beautiful trees had been felled, something that invaded us with sadness. Despite this fact, the place still remained amazing and mysterious and how couldn’t it be with all that energy irradiating such a magical place which gave it the name of the Enchanted Forest.

The Enchanted Forrest

is not so far from the city. Actually, it is located in the district of San Jerónimo. We departed from ‘Paradero la Encantada’ located at the end of ‘Via Evitamiento’ and then found a path close to Silkinchani, which is the archaeological site we have visited on an adventure before.

On the way,

as I wrote above, we were surprised by the size of such trees. Many thorns surrounded them making some areas difficult to access, giving us the sensation that the place seemed to be not very frequented by people. In the end, we could find an area where to rest and enjoy a good tree shadow.

We walked for half an hour approximately,

surrounding the forest and found at a certain point a very particular majestic tree based on the top of a hill, facing the city, another perfect place to rest for another time. The place was quiet and peaceful so it wasn’t a surprise to fall asleep again in a matter of minutes.

On our return,

we walked down the hill and arrived at the National University Kayra’s farm. Actually, we didn’t know we got there until we reached the university’s main buildings and the principal entrance. It was weird we didn’t find any sign at the entrance.

All in all,

it was a marvellous walking day. We ended up energised by nature eager to continue discovering new places around. However, there’s something which still remained unclear so far. Why is it the name The Enchanted Forest? Is it because there’s any story left behind? another mystery to solve.
