Tambomachay – Huchuy Qosqo

Tambomachay – Huchuy Qosqo

Walking for twelve hours is really challenging. That was the period of time we walked from Tambomachay, part of the archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman towards Lamay in the Sacred Valley, passing through the breathtaking Huchuy Qosqo and its impressive view. In addition, none of us had ever walked this path before, so it represented a whole challenge.

We left Tambomachay at 07:30 am. On our way, we went through a beautiful landscape of the highlands, mountains, llamas, sheep, cattle and lagoons. As we’re in the rainy season, fortunately, it didn’t rain heavily, just drizzled in some sections. Then we found an Incan path that would take us to Huchuy Qosqo, not before showing us the beautiful landscapes of this part of the region, such as beautiful cliffs, abundant vegetation, a beautiful river and the astonishing view to the Sacred Valley.

We arrived at Huchuy Qosqo at 17:00 hrs, after a whole immeasurable adventure. Toasted, visited the place and descended to Lamay. Totally an unforgettable experience!
